Homily - Fr. Larry Richards - "We’ve got to take courage and come to him as we are."
“So often what keeps us from God is we're looking at our own sinfulness, our own blindness, our own reality.
And often we just think I can't approach Jesus as I am.
I just can't. I'm not worthy. I'm not good. I have sin.
And Jesus knows that of course.
But don't you know, you can't stop it. But he can.
You can't make yourself worthy, but he can.
You can't heal yourself, but he can.
You can't forgive yourself, but he can.
You can't stop doing the things you keep doing by your own power, but he can give you that grace.
So we got to do more than just a bunch of words of desperation.
We’ve got to take courage and come to him as we are.”
